Many of you recently received a letter from King Parker asking for your help and financial support in his campaign to become the next Mayor of Renton. This is a critical time for Renton. Of the two candidates who are running for Mayor, King Parker is the one who can enhance its position as a regional leader and example of good government. For the past 10 years Renton has been the city in the Puget Sound region who has managed to get it right. Fiscally conservative management of the budget along with policies that encourages growth by creating an environment among the staff that rewards problem solving and flexibility. King clearly understands why Renton has been successful and is committed to continuing the innovated practices and partnerships that
are proven that other cities are now copying. He has the skills to make sure that Renton stays, “Ahead of the Curve.”
I am sending you this because you have benefited in the past from what I will call, “the Renton way of doing things.” All of you have told me how refreshing it was to work with a city that “gets it.” Well the culture that created that opportunity is now in jeopardy and this is your opportunity to give back to this community. Working in Renton was a joy. It was an amazing place with an attitude that no other has been able to duplicate. I think it’s worth a little effort to ensure that this city continues to grow, evolve and innovate for the benefit of us all. For that reason, I am asking you to send a campaign contribution to King Parker. I would appreciate it and I know King will as well.
